چکیده

Depression is a mental illness causing continuous negative feeling and loss of interest affects physical health. Mirtazapine (MTZ) an effective medicine for treating depression, but patients lack compliance. However, transforming pharmaceutical dosage form to orodispersible film (ODF) could resolve this issue. This study aims fabricate ODF-loading mirtazapine, using syringe extrusion 3D printer, compare its properties with the solvent-casting method. The ODFs were prepared by dissolving mirtazapine in hydroxypropyl methylcellulose E15 solution, then fabricated printer or casting. printing was accurate precise fabricating ODFs. SEM micrographs showed that mirtazapine-printed ODF (3D-MTZ) porous, crystals on film’s surface. 3D-MTZ exhibited better mechanical than mirtazapine-casted (C-MTZ), due 3D-printing process. disintegration time simulated salivary fluid, pH 6.8 at 37 °C, 24.38 s, which faster C-MTZ (46.75 s). vitro dissolution study, 0.1 N HCl found quickly released drug more 80% 5 min. manifested technology can potentially be applied fabrication ODF-containing mirtazapine.

Physicochemical characterization of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose based oil-in- water emulsions for edible film formation

Initial characteristics of emulsions would lead to different structures during drying of emulsion-based films, which in turn will affect the behavior of the film. The objective of this work was to study the effect of oil concentration and the use of surfactant over bubble sizes, interfacial tension, rheological properties and stability of oil-in-water emulsions stabilized by hydroxypropyl methy...

Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Activity of Chitosan/Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose Film-Forming Hydrosols Hydrolyzed by Cellulase

The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of cellulase (C) on the biological activity of chitosan/hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (CH/HPMC) film-forming hydrosols. The hydrolytic activity of cellulase in two concentrations (0.05% and 0.1%) was verified by determination of the progress of polysaccharide hydrolysis, based on viscosity measurement and reducing sugar-ends assay. The 2,2-diphen...
